Play Last Chaos through a restrictive proxy or firewall

Last Chaos can be played through Your Freedom if you use OpenVPN mode (and therefore no proxy configuration is required). Alternatively, it works well with ProxyCap (SocksCap and FreeCap won't do).

OpenVPN mode

Please follow the OpenVPN mode instructions, there is nothing special about Last Chaos.

Using ProxyCap

If for whatever reason you cannot or you do not want to use OpenVPN mode, Last Chaos can be played with ProxyCap as well. It is a "socksifier" that redirects all Internet connections of the game to a SOCKS proxy, in this case the Your Freedom client, without the game noticing it. ProxyCap is a commercial application (i.e. you need to buy it, but it costs less than 30 US$) but there is a 30 day trial period.

Your first step (assuming that YF is already up and running) is therefore to install ProxyCap, available from Proxy Labs' download page. The standard version will do. The installation requires a reboot.

Now configure ProxyCap as follows. Under "Proxies", create an entry like this one:

Now create rules for the game. The game consists of two executables, both need to be set up. Your rules page should look like this when you are done:

The picture below details how you set up the individual rules. You need to browse to the installation directory of Last Chaos and find the two exe files. One is called "LC.exe" and resides in the main installation directory, the other is called "Nksp.exe" and is located in the "bin" directory. Create rules for both.

Now start the game and enjoy!

Note that while the game can be played with FreeFreedom, you may find that performance is somewhat bad. We recommend that you use a BasicFreedom package or voucher with this game.
