This page describes how you can use Your Freedom to play City of Heroes even if you are behind a restrictive firewall or web proxy.

Download and install the latest version of ProxyCap from http://proxylabs.netwu.com/download.html

 

Then open up the 'Preferences > Proxies' window for ProxyCap

Once you have done this, and your settings screen looks the same as above, click 'OK' button to get back to 'Preferences' which should now looks like this:

Now choose the 'Rules' sub-menu:

and click the 'New Tunneling Rule' button

enter the following details:

 

Rule Type: Tunnel through proxy

Proxy: localhost: 1080

 

APPLICATION

( )  All Programs

(o) Specify

 

Click on the '...' button and locate CityOfHereos.exe

 

DESTINATION IP RANGE

(o) Not restricted

( )  Specify

 

DESTINATION PORT RANGE

(o) Not Restricted

( )  Specify

 

Your Settings should now look like the following:

 

Now click the 'OK' button:

Now create another tunneling rule for the CoHUpdater.exe with the same settings (like the following)

Your 'Rules' screen should now look like the following:

That’s it, your ProxyCap settings are all done to work perfectly with City Of Heroes. Now just leave ProxyCap running in the background and run Your Freedom and City of Heroes as normal.

(You may need to run a few copies of CityofHeroes.exe and leave them for a while for one to connect, once one is connected close the others and enjoy this great game)

Tip: Use server ems04.your-freedom.net or ems05.your-freedom.net as these seem to connect to the City of Heroes updater smoothly.
